The 71 dogs that were rescued from a condemned house in Savannah this week are all on their way to finding new homes. Some of the dogs ended up at Brooke's Haven Animal Rescue in Bluffton. Owner Brooke Fisher took in 16 pups earlier this week. Although the dogs had some flea issues and were not spayed or neutered, they seem to be doing just fine.
"We have taken them in and sorted them out. We have given them vaccines and baths and are starting to get them socializing. They really didn't seem to have a lot of human contact. They are doing very well right now," said Elise Ayers, Brooke's Haven Animal Rescue.
Ayers says right now they do not seem to have any serious health issues but the dogs still need as much human interaction as possible. She encourages anyone interested in adoption to come out and meet the animals at the shelter.
