Two child predators arrested near border

TUCSON, AZ (CBS5) -

Border Patrol agents arrested two convicted child sex predators trying to enter the United States at the Mexican border within 24 hours.

One was an unidentified 27-year-old man from El Salvador picked up by agents in Sonoita. He had been convicted in Los Angeles County in 2008 for having sex with a minor. The second man, a Mexican national, had been convicted in July for lewd acts with a child under 14 years old in Salinas, CA. That man was arrested by agents in Ajo.

Both men face federal prosecution for illegal re-entry of a felon.
