Mark Barber - WFXG FOX54 Augusta - Your News One Hour Earlier

Mark Barber

I was born and raised in a beautiful Rocky Mountain city, Colorado Springs.

After that, my family moved to Kansas where I did the rest of my growing up in the small, mid-western town of Marysville.

Beside all the general high school classes, I debated, acted and participated in public speaking contests.  Always one to be forging ahead, I graduated at 16, and followed my love for a good story from my home in Kansas to Greenville, SC to study journalism at Bob Jones University.

During my time as a student there, I reported for campus news, WBJU-TV, and interned as a reporter for WYYF4, in Greenville.

I graduated May, 2011 with a B. S. in Mass Media and began my career just a few months later with the Fox54 News at 10 Team in Augusta, GA.

In my spare time I volunteer with the program, Hope for Augusta, an outreach to Augusta's inner city children. You can also find me jogging on the North Augusta Greenway, learning to speak Spanish or exploring the CSRA. I'm a member at a local church in Martinez. I'm also planning a wedding with my fiancee, Lindsey.
