Accused Park Rapist To Be Committed 4-14-2010

The homeless man accused of raping a child inside a Centennial Park bathroom will be committed to a mental health hospital.
Scobey Sowell was arrested in 2008 after an 11-year-old boy said he was assaulted by Sowell.
A forensic psychiatrist who treated him testified Wednesday that Sowell suffers from schizophrenia and is seriously mentally ill. A judge decided Sowell will be committed until he is deemed competent to stand trial.
