Perry, SC (WFXG) - An elderly couple in Perry, SC was attacked when 2 unknown men barged into their home Wednesday.

According to a report from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called out to a home on Festival Trail Rd. at around 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 2 for a reported burglary. The victim told deputies that at around 9:15 a.m., he heard a knock at his door. When he answered the door, an unknown man asked if he could use the phone because he had run out of gas. When the victim told the man he was going to get the phone, the man barged into the home, followed by a second man. The victim and his wife tried to fight back, but were overpowered and tied up on the floor. The victim says he was eventually able to get loose and cut his wife free. They got into his truck and drove to a neighbor’s house to call 911.

Both the victim and his wife were injured in the attack. He says he was struck over the head by one of the suspects. His wife had swollen, bruised markings on her face and ankle. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun, according to the report. The victim says the men stole his wallet, which contained an undisclosed amount of cash, and ransacked the house.

The suspects are described as black men, approximately 6 feet tall in their mid-twenties. On Friday, the victims spoke worked with investigators to create a composite sketch of one of the suspects. The suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
